Wood-Fired Garlic Knots Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (105-110°F)
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cloves of garlic, chopped fine
  • 1/4 olive oil
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Instructions:

    1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it begins to foam.
    2. Add in the flour, salt, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
    3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    4. Place the dough into a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
    5. Preheat your wood-fired oven to 450°F.
    6. While the oven is heating up, mix the chopped garlic with the olive oil, grated parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
    7. Cut the dough into 12-16 pieces and toss them in the garlic olive oil mixture.
    8. Place them in a cast iron skillet.
    9. Bake for 5-6 minutes, or until the knots are golden brown.
    10. Serve hot and enjoy your wood-fired garlic knots!

Short Cut: You can use your left-over pizza dough instead of making fresh batch of dough.
