Wood-Fired White Pizza Recipe

Experience the deliciousness of wood-fired white pizza, where a creamy ricotta base meets rich mozzarella and fragrant garlic. With these ingredients, this pizza showcases the simple yet exquisite combination of flavors that come alive in a wood-fired oven. Let’s dig in!

Ingredients:

  • Pizza dough (Click here for ilFornino’s dough recipe)
  • 1 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2-3 cloves of minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of dried or fresh oregano
  • Optional: fresh basil leaves, for garnish

  Directions:

1. Prepare the Topping:

  • In a bowl, mix the ricotta, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and oregano until well combined.

3. Assemble the Pizza:

  • Divide the dough into multiple portions, depending on desired pizza size.
  • Roll out each portion on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured pizza peel.
  • Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the dough
  • Top with shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan.

4. Bake the Pizza:

  • Slide the pizza into the preheated oven and bake for 2-4 minutes, rotating halfway through, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

5. Serve:

  • Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh basil if desired.
